A number of existing instruments are consistent with the HiTOP model of mental illness. No single instrument encompasses the entirety of the model, but many come close and several can be combined to accomplish this. Some of these are free for use with author permission, others can be purchased. Moreover, some, like the ASEBA, have extensive norms and have been adapted for use across populations and cultures. The HiTOP consortium is developing a comprehensive assessment instrument, which we will announce and make available to members of this clinical network, but this remains a work in progress. Until then, below is a list of measures consistent with the HiTOP approach and how they may be accessed. This list is not exhaustive.
